The art of weaving is woven into the soul of the municipality, with Spanish missionaries noting that the industry predates their occupation. From the Bisaya derivative habol (blanket), Hablon means to completely cover something with a piece of cloth. But the Hablon has proven to suit more than just blankets, with many of our apparel items incorporating the weave. Clasped weave designs feature a unique design where one warp end begins with one color and finishes with another. The weaver chooses the location where the change of colour begins. With a more complex design, clasped weaves are the weavers from Argao’s take on a modern and edgy design.
